Scholarship Recipients

he Willamette Master Chorus awards scholarships each season to Willamette University vocal students based on academic achievement, musicianship and leadership. A generous bequest from the Carol Clark Tatkon estate has helped to fund nearly $15,000 in scholarships over the past 10 seasons.

Andy Wilson The Willamette Master Chorus is proud to announce that Andy Wilson, baritone, has received a $500 per semester scholarship and invitation to perform with the chorus for the 2010-11 season.

Originally from Portland, Andy is a graduate student at Willamette University, pursuing his Master of Arts in Teaching. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Willamette in 2006 and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Central Washington University in Ellensburg in 2008. He has wide experience singing with chamber choirs, men’s choirs, and vocal jazz; operatically, he has sung the title roles in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro. He conducted multiple groups at CWU and was Director of Music at The River Church of the Nazarene in Ellensburg. Besides Andy’s musical accomplishments, he was active as an Opening Days leader, in intramural sports, and within his fraternity. He is a chef, having worked at The Valley CafĂ© and Wine Bar in Ellensburg and The Hash Restaurant in Sellwood, OR.
